The world retail market is 2,634 trillion yen, and the e-commerce market accounts for about 12% of the retail market.
60% global e-commerce market in the Asia Pacific
61% of the global e-commerce market is in the Asia-Pacific region. The proportion of countries as follows: China accounted for 52%, the United States accounted for 18%, Japan 4%, other countries and regions accounted for 26%.
In the cross-border e-commerce market, Japan increased by 7.6% over the previous year to 276.5 billion yen (the amount of cross-border e-commerce purchases from China and the United States), from us purchases by 7.6% to 250.4 billion yen, and from China by 7.4% to 26.1 billion yen.
The U.S. cross-border e-commerce market grew 15.3% year-on-year to 1.3921 trillion trillion yen (from Japan and China), from Japan to 15.6%, 823.8 billion yen, and from China to 15% yen.
The size of China's cross-border e-commerce market grew by 18.4% on a year earlier, to 3.2623 trillion yen (from Japan and the United States), from Japanese purchases by 18.2% to 1.5345 trillion yen, and from the United States by 18.5% to 1.7278 trillion yen.
In 2018, the cross-border e-commerce market that China bought from the world grew 5.9 percent year on year to 62,938 billion yen.
Japan next step: cross-border e-commerce
Japan's domestic e-commerce market is close to saturation, and it is recommended that Japanese companies participate in "cross-border e-commerce"
The amount of cross-border e-commerce purchases in China, 21.5% in Japan, 16.4% in the United States, 14.7% in South Korea and 11.4% in Australia.
The product category consisted of “No1, 35.9% of “Cosmetics”; NO 2, 24.2% of “Food”, No 3, 13.3% of “clothes and shoes”, and No4, 10.6% of “Daily Items”.
The survey report shows that personal consumption in Japan has not increased, and e-commerce market forecasts will usher in saturation. In order to develop the e-commerce industry, we should actively commit to commercial activities aimed at the huge amount of cross-border e-commerce market in China and the United States.
Baidu's "Chinese cross-border e-commerce survey", released in January, shows that the source region of goods purchased by cross-border platforms, the 1th place in Japan, 58%; the 2nd Korea, 52.5%; the 3rd United States 48.4%, 4th Australia 26.7%, 5th Germany 22.2%.
