Hebei Chengde Lolo Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chengde Lolo”) took the lead in winning the “Benchmarking Award of Chinese Beverage Industry” three years ago. Chengde Lolo took the lead in winning the “Quality Benchmarking Enterprise Demonstration Award” again in the industry in December 2014. These two benchmarking awards result in that Chengde Lolo becomes the only one of the vegetable protein beverage industry and lays the leading position and leading superiority of technology, quality and brand in this industry.
 
How is the benchmarking built? Li Zhaojun, the general manager of Chengde Lolo said, “The standard is the edge tool used by Chengde Lolo to build the benchmarking. At present, we have become the main formulator of the two national standards of almond juice and walnut juice.”
 
The National Standards Commission formally approved the release of the two national standards of vegetable protein beverages (almond juice and walnut juice) on December 5, 2014 and will formally implement them on December 1, 2015.
 
In the national standard of almond juice, Chengde Lolo is the only enterprise participating in the formulation; in the national standard of walnut juice, Chengde Lolo is one of the three enterprises participating in the formulation. Through going through each workshop and post of Chengde Lolo and comparing with its production process standard, it is not difficult to find that the classification, requirement, test method, inspection rule, transportation, storage, etc. in these two national standards to be implemented are also Chengde Lolo’s enterprise standard in the daily production and operation.
 
According to the introduction of the CBIA's relevant leader who takes the lead in drafting the two standards, the implementation of the two standards will mandatorily ensure the product quality and food safety of almond juice and walnut juice and effectively protect the interests of consumers so as to further put an end to the excessive packaging of products and other disorderly conducts, promote the energy conservation & consumption reduction, low-carbon environmental protection and industry integrity, strengthen the consciousness of social responsibility and play a great role in promoting the improvement of the industry quality level of China’s vegetable protein beverages.
 
Many consumers probably sympathize with others in suffering. Since the “Melamine Incident” occurred, vegetable protein beverages have been sought after by consumers. Not long since, this industry messed: passing fake imitations for genuine and nonstandard production. Some enterprises imitate the well-known brand products, and some enterprises directly blend the flavors and fragrances with protein powders to form walnut juice (milk) and other products.  
 
The ending of chaotic phenomena is that bad money drives out good money, and the consequence of disorderly competition is that excess production capacity results in eliminating the best and selecting the worst. Therefore, both the market and industry look forward to the introduction of national standards.
 
Wang Xuchang participating in formulating the standards in the whole process, the deputy general manager of Chengde Lolo, introduced that the Company participated in formulating the industrial standard of almond juice in 1997; this standard has made undeniable contributions to the early-stage growth and development of vegetable protein beverages. In 2006, the Company revised the industrial standard of almond juice again, creatively found the specific indexes of almond fatty acid through a large number of experimental results and provided the corresponding inspection methods in the standard, which is also the first creation in the standard formulating history. The revision and implementation of this standard plays a positive role in the purification of almond juice market and also plays a huge promotion role in the market development so that the whole vegetable protein beverage industry is widely concerned and sought after by consumers through its unique advantages of green, nature, nutrition and safety. In 2009, the Company started the formulation work of the almond juice national standard, segmented and strengthened the specific indexes of almond fatty acid on the basis of summarizing the former industrial standard, perfected its inspection method and improved the content requirements of the two indexes (protein and fat) so that all index limits of new national standard are more scientific and reasonable, the technical content is higher and the technology reaches the leading level in china.
 
The Company actively participated in the formulation work of the walnut juice national standard while formulating the almond juice national standard. Because of rich experience in the formulation of almond juice national standard, the Company collected the detection analysis of 87 walnut juice products circulated in the national market while formulating the walnut juice national standard, made a large number of samples according to international and domestic different production places, categories and mixture ratios of walnut kernel, first determined the specific fatty acid indexes and corresponding inspection method of walnut kernel on the basis of a large number of repeated tests and carried out the scientific regulations for mixture ratio and composition of protein and fat content.
 
Chengde Lolo with 64 years of development history can be called the pioneer of vegetable protein beverages in China. In the process of formulating these two national standards, Chengde Lolo suggests that the protein content, fat content, fatty acid composition and proportion and other product characteristic indexes should be written into the national standards and the good faith management shall be increased to prevent the excessive packaging of products and meet the requirements of energy conservation and consumption reduction; these two suggestions have been adopted. After they are implemented, these two national standards not only will protect the rights and interests of consumers but also will play a positive role in standardizing this industry market.
