We reported 5-HTP earlier in March and July.The quality of ghana seeds was so seriousely affected by Africa droughty last year that it can’t meet enterprise standards.The price of ghana seeds rose sharply.Some manufacturers in China either was in a waiting state or stopped purchasing raw materials under the pressure.

    At present,5-HTP is seriousely shortage in the domestic market..The inventory of the few remaining manufacturers is no more than a few kilograms.The price is up to around 8500RMB/kg which is almost three times that in early 2009. According to heridge.com, Shenzhen Naturactive Inc.had 100 kilograms of 5-HTP in stock whose price is 8000RMB/kg.75 kg was sold instantly.That is to say they only have 25 kilogrames in stock. Xi'an Tiancheng Biotechnology Co.,Ltd. have 1.5 kg of 5-HTP in stock whose price is 4200RMB/kg. According to incomplete statistics,the existing stock volume is less than 100 kilogrames in domestic market.

    The price is extremely high.Many manufacturers in China have to stop producing 5-HTP for lack of raw materails.The orders of a few suppliers possessing raw materials are already fully booked.Therefore,it is until the end of the year can we purchase a large number of 5-HTP.We will conduct follow-up reports.
