Herbridge, 30 Oct. 2012_The confused lutein market is gradually clear in October. The good harvest doesn’t bring farmers economic results. Farmers who signed agreements with firms sold marigold flowers at given prices, while the other farmers sold flowers at 1.2 yuan less per kilogram and some farmers even didn’t recover cost, according to herbridge.com.
The combination of gloomy economy and marigold’s lower prices drove lutein manufactures to reduce prices in September. Lutein prices continued to drop this month, and now down 17 percent from last month. The downward tendency will probably continue, but at a modest rate.
