Herbridge, 6 August_The kiloton lutein project, introduced by WuHAO cooperative at Moguqi town in Zhalantun city, was built in early August this year. When the project is completed, it will be the third lutein production line following Shanghai and Chengdu, and the first lutein-refining project in North China.
As a sunrise industry introduced in 2006, marigod plays a significant role in industrial structural adjustment and farmer income increase in the past years. Wuhao cooperative was formed in August 2010. Then a preliminary processing factory was establised with registered capital 5 million yuan and fixed asset 10 million yuan.
The factory is dedicated to marigold plantation and preliminary processing. The planting area hit 5000 mu in the town last year. The plantin area reached over 10,000 mu in Zhalandun city this year, including Jalaid Banner, Longjiang, Gannan and Arun Banner. They built marigold branch of Arun Banner this year. They also partner with BEIJING MARIGOLD to build lutein production line with total investment of 120 million yuan.
