Sophora flower bud (Huaimi) primarily grows in Hennan, Shanxi, Shaanxi and Gansu province, where plenty of huaimi is arriving to the market. But it is an off year in 2012, so the overall production is lower. In early season, huaimi’s low prices dampened farmers’ enthusiasm for picking and selling. Moreover, resellers purchased huaimi at high prices last year. They will not sell huaimi at lower prices. Therefore, hauimi is offered at varied prices in China.
Rutin’s manufacturers are waiting and watching the market. Rutin has been sold at low prices in 2012. So it is impossible for manufacturers to buy huaimi at high prices. The rutin market is still unclear.
Herbridge Media will keep an eye on the market and give a report next month.
