In China’s plant extract industry, soybean isoflavone is in larger amount. Soybean resources are abundant in China, and international market demands are stable. Soybean isoflavone has been remaining stable supply for many years. Some enterprises even supply the extract soybean isoflavone alone, and develop sub-products in line with purchasers’ demands. In addition to products of flavone 40% which are in bulk supply, they can also supply those of flavones 10%-80% used for formulas in dietary supplement, functional food and pet nutrient makers, in accordance with customers’ needs.
In previous years, the supply of soybean isoflavone was under violent competition. As a result of price battle, many enterprises have found it is hard to make a profit from this extract, and withdrawn one after another. Now, some enterprises mainly supplying soybean isoflavone reap small profits through quick turnover as there have been fewer new comers and prices have been stable for a long period of time.
In China, soybean isoflavones are extracted from soybean embryo and bean draff. Generally speaking, soybean isoflavones extracted from bean draff cost 30% more than those from soybean embryo.
