Herbridge, 13 Feb 2012_There is growing demand for salicin in 2012, compared to moderate and stable demand through 2011. In 2011, the fierce competition leaded to price reductions, but not significant in China. Owing to small demand, there are only a few salicin suppliers in China.
Salicin is primarily for American manufacturers, and the order from France and other European countries increased in recent years. Low-content salicin is a common product with most demand in the market. High-purity salicin is also used in cosmetics. 50% salicin is said to be offered around 350RMB/kg in China.
"Allowing for raw material cost and small demand and other factors, salicin prices will not fluctuate significantly in 2012," said one manager from SanYuan JinRui Natural Ingredients Co., Ltd, a specialized supplier of salicin in China.
