Herbridge, 8 Aug. 2011_Rhodiola root, a rare raw material, saw its harvest season in August in China. The average prices are around 28RMB/kg, which is almost consistent with the prices reported two months ago. The salidroside market keeps stable in China, according to herbridge.com.
The serious inflation resulted into higher prices of crops and herbals in China, including rhodlola root. Allowing for the high cost pressure, most manufacturers either stop production or manufacture the extracts within a limited volume in China. Only a few manufacturers featuring rhodiola root extract still insist in bulk production in China. 3% salidroside are quoted around 170RMB/kg at a large purchasing level in China.
The salidroside market is stable now, but the prices still have upward tendency attributed to rhodiola root in serious short supply.
