It is preliminary understood that the growing area decreased this year and the stevia leaf prices would likely to increase after the harvest. Manufacturers believed that stevia would gain approvals in EU in the near future, so that the stevia supply in China nearly doubled compared to 2010. As the supply significantly exceeds the demand, price war can't be avoided. Consequently, GLG reduced RA97 prices to 1500RMB/kg in July. Overall, GLG offer higher prices than other manufacturers in China.
