Herbridge, 28 July_The resveratrol market is still not good in China, but Huzhang, as an endangered plant, still suffered from panic buying after the harvest. Some companies purchase Huzhang to produce resveratrol, others purchase Huzhang for the purpose of speculation.
The supply-side for resveratrol is concentrated in Sichuan and Hunan provinces in China, especially Sichuan province. The resveratrol market still stagnated in 2011. But some new small-scale suppliers still emerged in the market, according to herbridge.com. Additionally, some manufacturers decided to temporarily stop production in China.
Resveratrol is in stable supply in China. The prices for 50% and 98% resveratrol are respectively quoted around 580RMB/kg and 1900RMB/kg in China.
Moreover, there are very few manufacturers to promote pterostillbene in China. The prices are said to exceed 5000RMB/kg now.
