Herbridge, 8 July 2011_Capptothecin sees significantly different prices in China. The prices for capptothecin from common camptotheca fruits vary, so do that from nothapodytes pittosporoides. Of course, there are different prices between two sourced cappothecin. The market saw significantly lower prices since H2 2008. For example, the prices for 95% cappothecin from common camptocheca fruits declined to 45000RMB/kg in 2010 in China. The market has been stable since 2010.
The one sourced from common camptotheca fruits is primarily for the west market while the other is mainly for domestic market. Yin, General Manager, Lu Xi Xiaoyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd said, nothapodytes pittosporoides has higher capptothecin content than common camptotheca fruit, but the technological challenges made it impossible to offer consistent capptothecin based on nothapodytes pittosporoides. As a wild plant, it is also hard to ensure sustainable supply. In this respect, common camptotheca fruit-sourced camptothecin has advantages over the one from nothapodytes pittosporoides. However, nothapodytes pittosporoides-based camptothecin is offered at lower prices. Yin stated, the future market is determined by the prices competition between these two sourced cappothecin.
Capptothecin is a small-scale product with ten less manufacturers in China. The prices' variety is mainly attibuted to different technologies. The market is expected to keep stable in the near future, according to herbridge.com.
