Herbridge, 27 June 2011_It is around one month later that sophora flower bud's harvest season will come in China. So far, the output of sophora flower bud (huaimi) this year is expected to be larger than last year. However, due to the short picking time, either the late picking activities or big rains during harvesting will affect the production this year. Herbridge.com preliminary predicted that high-quality huaimi's prices would be quoted around 30RMB/kg after the new crops arrive in the market.
In terms of rutin content in huaimi, the one in Viet Nam is superior to that in China. Most rutin manufacturers prefer to import huaimi from Viet Nam. The new crops will arrive in late June in Viet Nam, but manufacturers are just waiting and watching the market now. Industry players believed that rutin would see lower prices after the new harvest. Currently, the prices for NF11 rutin are around 500RMB/kg.
But recently, the floods spreaded over several provinces in South China while big rains occured occasionally in North China. The rutin market seems to be highly variable in 2011.
