Herbridge, 17 June 2011_When the harvest season comes in India, domestic curcumin manufacturers express little passion for turmeric purchase. The high turmeric prices contract manufacturers' profit space and enforce them to stop production. According to herbridge.com, most domestic manufacturers only offer low-content curcumin primarily made by China-growing Curcuma wenyujin. With little 95% curcumin in stock, most domestic manufacturers don't carry out production until they receive orders. Some new manufacturers also give up the plan to involve in curcumin production. The old manufacturers are still waiting and watching the market and will prepare production if gain orders.
According to herbridge.com, only 5 or less manufacturers offer high pure curcumin based on turmeric from India. The prices for 95% curcumin with domestic or Indian sources are both around 1500RMB/kg in China. As turmeric prices increase and manufacturers reduce, curcumin prices are expected to increase in the future.
