Herbridge, 31 May 2011_It needs time to see the new harvest. As manufacturers stop production, the demand for rhodiola root extract seems to exceed the supply.
As the Rhodiola crenulata and Rhodiola roseaL continue to see higher prices and further resource shortage, rhodiola root extracts continue to see higher prices in China. The prices for 3% salidroside is to date around 200 RMB/kg which was 120RMB/kg in August 2010. The prices for rosavins have been maintained around 500RMB/kg since April which were twice the prices in August 2010. Rosavins are derived from rhodiola roseaL which is in serious shortage, so that the prices range between 480-530RMB/kg now. As a whole, the rosavin based market sees more serious supply conditions.
The rhodiola root extract market is expected to fluctuate before the harvest.
