Herbridge, 25 April 2011_Due to the high prices of rhodiola rosea, most manufacturers can only supply rhodiola crenulata-sourced salidroside. The common specifications are 1, 2 and 3 percent salidroside.
The prices for rhodiola crenulata are around 28RMB/kg now, compared to 16RMB/kg shortly after 2010 year's harvest. But the prices for rhodiola root extract don't increase at the same level. The combination of higher production cost and serious shortage of raw materials encouraged some manufacturers to stop production.
The prices for rhodiola root extract are slightly higher than that in early 2011. According to herbridge.com, the prices for 3 percent salidroside and 3 percent rosavins are 200RMB/kg and 500RMB/kg, respectively.
