Herbridge, 25 Feb.2010_The combination of the inflation and RMB appreciation makes it possible for several common herbal extract to become hot product in China. St John's wort P.E which is a bulk product begins to see shortage and gain more attention in China. The prices for St John's wort P.E. are rising in China.
As St John's wort is in serious shortage, it is very hard for manufacturers to purchase St John's wort whose prices have approached to 14RMB/kg in the market. Therefore, it is impossible for the extract's prices to decline in the near future.
According to herbridge.com, the prices see large growth in China. 0.3% hypericin prices have increased to about 170RMB/kg, compared to less than 95RMB/kg before the Spring Festival. There are about 3 tons of St John's wort extract available in China. The prices are expected to rise again in March.
