Herbridge,22 Feb.2011_It is the harvest season for griffonia seed in Africa. 5-HTP market now sees the lowest demand in recent two years in China.
The poor harvest drove the new 5-HTP prices to increase at the end of 2010. Meanwhile, manufacturers in China keep calm to consider the situation，and those who supply 5-HTP as additional product haven't engaged in 5-HTP production without careful consideration. Most of those who primarily supply 5-HTP claimed to purchase griffonia seed at appropriate time. The first batch of griffonia seed is said to arrive in China in March.
According to herbridge.com, 5-HTP has some stock in China and sees very small demand presently. Moreover, griffonia seed has been picked in Africa. Therefore, 5-HTP prices decline slightly. 98% 5-HTP prices are currently maintained at 2000RMB/kg, over ￥100 less than that at the end of last year. The prices are expected to be slightly adjusted when the new crop reach China.
