Herbridge,21 Feb.2011_The harvest for turmeric has come, but it still needs time for turmeric to come to the market from the field. All the manufacturers who are producing curcumin now have received purchase orders. Restricted by the turmeric supply, they are trying to meet old costomers' demand but have no ability to meet new costomers' demand.
The new crop is said to arrive in late March. The turmeric prices are not clear now. If the prices continue to keep high, there will be less and less manufacturers to produce curcumin in China. The curcumin has different versions in the market with the prices ranging from 1300RMB/kg to 1500RMB/kg. According to herbridge.com, as raw materials' cost is increasing, only a few manufacturers plan to produce curcumin in China this year.
