Herbridge,14 Jan.2010_China paprika oleoresin market experienced high prices through 2010.The new crop arrived in the market in November,but not bringing relief to the long serious supply situations.
According to herbridge.com,the paprika for the pigments production primarily grows in Shandong,Xinjiang and Yunnan province,and partly grows in Hebei province in China.The high prices for paprika in 2009 encouraged farmers to plant more paprika in 2010.But the overall quality declines with high prices,including high water content and low color value.It is said that the prices reached up to 16000RMB/kg as the new crop arrived which is consistent with 2009's level.It is hard for manufacturers to purchase superior paprika even at the high prices.In addition,the cost increase for raw materials and transportation caused by the inflation presents another challenges for domestic enterprises.The prices for oil soluble E150 paprika pigment rise up to around 260RMB/kg now.
The Spring Festival will come soon.Some manufacturers decided to stop production for the moment.Some corporations with export operation currently switch to supply domestic market.Some export-oriented enterprises carry out production according to orders and have received orders with the delivery date of March.
