Herbridge,31 Dec.2010_Epemidium prices decline from 22RMB/kg to around 15RMB/kg now.But it may take time for the deduction of epemidium extract prices.
Epemidium wildly grows in Gansu and Sichuan province in China.Of which epemidium in Gansu has superior quality.The highest prices for epemidium of 26 RMB/kg encouraged farmers to actively pick them in 2010.Gansu alone produced 700-800 tons of epemidium this year,but the superior ones only reached 400 tons.The prices for epemidium are maintained around 17RMB/kg,￥6 low compared to some time ago.
But it takes time for manufacturers to sell epemidium extracts whose raw materials were purchased at a high level price.Currently,the prices for epemidium extracts are of difference in China.Manufacturers in Sichuan give the lowest prices.10% icariin prices are 700-750RMB/kg in China.Additionally,some manufacturers may lower prices in order to recover their funds before the Spring Festival.The prices are expected to rise after the Spring Festival,but speculation can not be excluded.
