Herbridge,30 Dec.2010_The new crop for turmeric is available in China.But the sales are weak even in serious shortage conditions.Most manufacturers are sitting tight waiting for turmeric prices to decline.
Turmeric primarily grows in Sichuan,Yunnan and Zhejiang province in China.Manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and food prefer Sichuan-cultivated turmeric for its features of small size,thin skin and high level of effective components.While turmeric is wildly grown in Yunnan province where it is big but have lower content of effective components.The majority are used for the production of turmeric pigments.
Turmeric is typically picked between early December and late Janurary in China.The new crop has arrived in the market now.But manufacturers haven't bought turmeric on a large scale yet.The majority are sitting tight waiting for turmeric prices to decline.According to herbridge.com,the prices for turmeric cultivated in Sichuan province and the one growing in Yunnan province are 26RMB/kg and 15RMB/kg,respectively.
