Ginseng primarily grows in the Northeast.The wet weather caused the rot of stems and leaves.But on the whole,it is not serious.That's to say ginseng should not see shortage now.Therefore,the high prices for ginseng may be related to hoarding and cornering.
Ginseng prices are very high,while ginseng extract prices are hard to rise as purchasers are reluctant to accept price increase.Which presents challenges to ginseng extract manufacturers who have no previous ginseng in stock.These manufacturers basically make no profit.
Some manufacturers have their own planting bases or purchased large ginseng last year.They may relieve the pressures temporarily.
The common specifications for ginseng extract are 80%,30% and 20% ginsenosides in the international market.The prices for 80% ginsenosides are around 800RMB/kg with larger demand.Ginseng extract prices are expected to rise in the future.
