Herbridge,11 August 2010_Curcumin prices continues to increase on the severe shortage of turmeric.The market is said to change rapidly,the quoted prices is available in two weeks at best,even it is adjusted in one week.The quoted price for 95% curcumin was 1300RMB/kg last week and rises to 1400RMB/kg this week.
That is attributed to firm demand and low stocks in domestic market.Most manufacturers are actively looking for turmeric.Participants said,there is some turmeric in China.It is reported that almost 1000 tonnes of turmeric were exported at lower prices to India from China last month.Which to some extent lead the fall of turmeric prices in India.
According to herbridge.com, In India,the extended fresh buying amid restricted supply as stockists held back stocks on hopes of better prices may support the upside in prices.However, overall movement was stable due to subdued domestic demand amid stable arrivals.
