Herbridge,27 July 2010_Currently,the rutin serial products are still in short supply.As early as June,the pagoda tree flower saw the harvest season in Viet Nam. Given the high prices,domestic manufacturers were waiting for the new crop arrival in China,while keeping a close eye on market conditions.The new harvest season will come in August in China.Some manufacturers claimed that they would import pagoda tree flower for production if the market demand increased.Almost no manufacturers have done this so far.

International market

    Rutin and its derives are mature products in herbal extract industry.The domestic and overseas demand is basically stable.Brazil,the competitive counterpart of China on rutin serial products,mostly supply the US.market.And the customer group is basically stable.
Industry players said,"Some enterprises in Viet Nam can supply rutin serial products,but constrained by poor economy environment and overall industrial level,only a few manufacturers gained GMP certification.Moreover,due to backward production process,they are not able to offer some products.That means to say they don't have competitive advantages in this area.Pagoda tree flower is mainly used as natural dye in Viet Nam.Which is intimately associated with the country's customs."

    In Europe,botanicals are widely used.Troxerutin was gradually removed from socialized medicine catalog since 2008.With the development and applicaton of new herbal ingredients,the demand for rutin serial products will be decreased to some extent in Europe.
Future

    The abnormal climate resulted in the upcoming poor harvest.While the increased labor costs may also escalate costs pressure to domestic manufacturers.The market continues to fluctuate before the harvest in China.

    Zhanghong,market manager,Sichuan Xieli Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd.  told herbridge.com,"Owing to the abnormal climate,the harvest season will half an month later than usual this year.It will take additional time to carry out production with new crops.Given the unstable prices for raw materials,it is difficult to form an opinion on the future market.The market have experienced lows,so it is impossible to keep the previous price when the new crop arrives."

    There are not many manufacturers with stocks.Some manufacturers begin to import raw material to solve the shortage problem of raw materials.The rutin prices is basically maintained at 180-190RMB/kg in the international market,rising by RMB 10 per kg, compared to May.
