Herbridge,18 June 2010-Matrine and oxymatrine are traditionally derived from Radix Sophorae.Some are sourced from Sophora alopecuroide in recent years.Matrine and oxymatrine are mainly used as the treatment for liver trouble.They are expected to used in the emerging botanical pesticide area.
According to herbridge.com,the overall market for matrine and oxymatrine has been relatively stable for recent years.The price for matrine and oxymatrine was 1550RMB/kg and 2000RMB/kg,respectively in 2008.In 2009,matrine price is stable.Owing to small demand,oxymatrine price saw no growth.Most manufacturers couldn't make profit,so that some enterprises have to stop supplying oxymatrine and specialise in matrine.However,when comes to 2010,the demand for oxymatrine exceeds the supply. The price increases to 2600RMB/kg with many factors such as price rises for raw materials.
Currently,the oxymatrine keep stable.Manufacturers have become rational and almost none increases its existing capacity.
