Herbridge,10 June 2010-In the First Skin Nutrition and Health Care Industry Forum held on 28-30 May,Ma Ya,president,Chamber of Beauty Culture and Cosmetics of All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce,presented the opportunites and challenges for China domestic beauty and cosmetics industry.
There are more than 4000 domestic beauty and cosmetic enterprises in China.The market value exceeded Japan in 2009 to reach over 400 billion yuan,residing the third place in the world.Foreign cosmetic companies,even the second or third rate ones have been interested in China cosmetic market for a long time.Unfortunately,China beauty and cosmetics industry faces many challenges.Ma Ya said,"China cosmetic industry is still included in the service industry now.4000 more companies have been competing by themselves in the market.The market scale of 400 billion should enable the cosmetic industry become a independent industry."Ma Ya said.She called on China government to offer help to China cosmetic companies.She explained,"China companies have grown rapidly in recent years.In addition to fierce competition,companies have the mission to promote the industry development and other social responsibilities."
"For thirty years,domestic private cosmetic enterprises and foreign companies have been in an unfair competing ground."Ma Ya said.Owing to various additional fee and strict access rules, it is very hard for domestic brands to be sold in supermarket or grand shopping mall in big cities.Almost all grand shopping malls in big cities permit foreign brands to enter for free,even providing many free advertising services.
Hou Juncheng,president,Hangzhou Pro Ya Holding Co.,Ltd said,"China private enterprises have been playing more and more attention to research and development.Some excellent cosmetic enterprises have increased investments for R&D in order to make their technologies and innovative ability attain advanced world standard."
