Herbridge,8 June,2010-He Yanli,Deputy director,department of industry,National development&reform commission made a report-Nutrition&Health-care Industry Shall Play a Greater Role in National Economy in the First Skin Nutrition and Health Care Industry Forum.She pointed that the health food market sales reached 100 billion yuan.1500 health product manufacturers obtained the GMP certificate in China.A total of 9664 health products have been registered in China,and domestic products account for 93.2%.It is the very time when the health product market began to boom in China,but it faces many challenges.
Firstly,the number of enterprises increased fast but most of them are small.Enterprises with the assets exceeding 100 million yuan account for 1.45%.Enterprises with the assets exceeding 50 million yuan account for 38%.Enterprises with the assets between 100 thousand and 1 million account for 41.39%.Generally,China enterprises have no competitive advantages.
Secondly,health product enterprises invest a little money in the research and development sector,just accounting for 1.55%.Enterprises have relatively weak innovative ability in science and technology.Only 1% enterprises have their own patent.The health product market began in 1980s.Owing to the changed regulation in 2003,the oversight by SFDA is minimal at best.The market was in a state of disorder or confusion.Food Safety Laws was enforced in 2009.The market supervision was then strengthen.
Thirdly,Enterprises should improve the self-renovation capability.In 2003-2005,209 kinds of Chinese traditional medicine,212 kinds of common materials and 99 kinds of nutritional substances were used in health products,and the frequency was respectively 50%,20.08% and 17.28%.Moreover,262 kinds of plant extracts are incorporated in domestic health products.The majority is primary processed.The equipments update slowly and are backward.The process technology as well as the safety,efficency and stability of products are needed to be further improved.
