Herbridge,21 May 2010-Artichoke extract has a history of more than ten years in China.Currently,it hasn't seen strong  growth.In stead,many enterprises stopped supplying this product.

    Artichoke native to the Mediterranean.It has been cultivated in Yunnan,Hunan,Jiangsu and  Beijing in China now.Of which,Yunnan is most suitable in terms of the climate.SW drought  affected the harvest of artichoke,but the price for artichoke and its extract nearly has no  change.

    That doesn't mean small international demand.It is reported that the import or demand from US  and Western Europe increased continously in recent years.According to herbridge.com,artichoke  can be used both as food and medicine.In China,90% artichoke is canned and then exported .Only  a few manufacturers are supplying artichoke extract--2.5% and 5% cynarin(UV).

    That is mostly restricted by technique level.Almost no enterprises have the ability to provide  artichoke extract(HPLC).In addition,manufacturers in China have no price  advantage.BannerBio,promoting 5% cynarin(HPLC) a few years ago,has stopped supplying this  product.

    Artichoke is extensively cultivated in Europe.But it doesn't grow well in  China.Moreover,enterprises in Europe are supplying artichoke extract.

    The demand for artichoke extract is small in China.The majority is proportion product.

    According to herbridge.com,the price for 2.5% and 5% cynarin(UV)is around 80RMB/kg and  170RMB/kg,respectively.Artichoke price is about 4RMB/kg now.
