Herbridge,19 May 2010-The kava extract market changes slightly in China.Owing to the restrained kava material,kava extract price rises accordingly.
Kava extensively grows in the Pacific Islands such asFiji,Vanuatu,Polynesia.Currently,the exotic kava price rises up to 20USD/kg,presenting extreme cost pressure to manufacturers.Most manufacturers therefore have to withdraw from the kava extract market.Only a few enterprises remain to supply kava extract in China,such as Shaanxi Tianyu Bioengineer.Moreover,Shaanxi Tianben Bioengineering Co., Ltd has to suspend production with only small amounts of kava extract in stock.The price is around 800RMB/kg compared to 700RMB/kg last year.
Industry insiders said,no alternatives are found to derive kava extract.
