On April 25 in Beijing, two industrial parks, COFCO Nutrition and Health Science Park and COFCO Eco Valley Science and Technology Park, were unveiled.

COFCO’s Nutrition and Health Science Park will be located in the Future Science City, adjacent to the COFCO Nutrition and Health Research Institute, and COFCO Health Science and Technology Park will be located in Beijing Fangshan COFCO Ecological Valley.
COFCO Ecological Valley is a smart town mainly constructed by COFCO. It is built as an eco-town that is based on agriculture and features health-industry and cross-border integration. It will gather the most creative companies in the health field.
At present, COFCO has signed strategic cooperation agreements with 48 professional organizations such as China Agricultural University, Danone Group, Mengniu, Nestlé Group, BGI, Hongtian Bio, Wageningen University, etc., and plans to build research and development platforms in the two parks such as high-grade innovation centers for nutrition and human health, cell biology research laboratories, and Chinese dairy product research and development base, etc.
“We will focus on ‘people's health’ and take ‘national nutrition’ as the pointcut. We will introduce a group of international authoritative R&D institutions, incubate a number of industry’s cutting-edge technologies, train a group of industry talents, apply new technologies and “Internet+” to promote transformation and upgrading of traditional food, grain, and oil industries towards building of a comprehensive and high-grade modern industrial system focused on nutrition and health,” said Zhao Shuanglian, COFCO's party secretary and chairman.
With its core business of grain, oil, sugar, and cotton, COFCO ranks among the largest grain companies in the world and has operations in more than 140 countries and regions around the world. It has built a global food corridor that connects six continents and has connected tables of more than one-fourth of the world’s population to farms. It has strong resource integration and brand appeal in the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain and has leading research and development strength in the field of nutrition and health in China.
COFCO Nutrition and Health Research Institute
Since its founding in 2010, COFCO Nutrition and Health Research Institute has continued to carry out R&D and innovation around its “nutrition-health-centered product development” and “technology development based on quality and efficiency improvement, energy conservation and emission reduction, and green sustainable development.” It has established an open, state-level R&D and innovation platform for gathering innovative resources for grain, oil, and foods. It has also built a processing and application technology center, a brand food research and development center, a biotechnology center, a nutrition and metabolism center, and a food quality and security center, etc., serving COFCO and leading R&D and innovation in the industry. The company has more than 20 authoritative scientific research laboratories such as the China National Academy of Engineering Nutrition and Health Center, academician expert workstation, postdoctoral research workstation, national food quality supervision and inspection center, and jointly established the “China-Australia joint research center of manufacturing technology of future dairy products.” The company has become the executive body of the national science and technology strategy for grain, oil, and food industries.
