Centella asiatica primarily grows in the south of Yantze River. The harvest season is from May to August. The market is stable and will not change in the near future. The price is the same as that in H2 2013. The largest suppliers of Centella asiatica are Guizhou province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Thanks to large production in Guizhou province, the price keeps stable with adequate supply.

The demand for Asiaticoside is stable at home and abroad. Major manufacturers of Centella asiatica are from Gangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, including Layn, Guangxi Changzhou Natural Pharmaceutical Ltd. The serial products available are asiaticoside(10%~90%), Madecassoside(10%~90%), Asiaticacid, Madecassic Acid and asiaticosides. The future market will remain stable.

The price of Centella asiatica is RMB 8.5 to RMB 10.5 per kilogram. The price for 10% asiaticoside is around 600 RMB/kg, and 80% asiaticosides around 2700 RMB/kg. The price will keep stable before the new harvest in May. Given the decrease of raw material and the increase of labor cost, the price is expected to significantly rise after the harvest.

The extract is used in health products and cosmetics. As a medicinal herb, Centella has a long usage history in Asia and Africa, primarily for the treatment of diseases of skin and mucosa. Centella is also eaten directly or cooked in some countries. International players have launched caffeine- and sugar-free natural drinks with Centella extract and ginkgo extract.

As consumers pursue for natural and healthy products, the demand for natural cosmetics and health products is rising on the globe. Centella extract, an important component in cosmetics and health products, is expected to see a significant increase in demand.
