Citrus Aurantium extract comprises 16 products, especially hesperidin, synephrine and diosmin in the largest demand. The extract, for dietary supplement or feed additive, is welcomed by foreign buyers. Citrus extract is mainly exported to France, India, Germany, Poland and Southeast Asia. France contributes to one fifth of the total demand, and major consumers also include Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
President Xiao from Hunan Kang Biotech told herbridge.com most manufacturers are in Chengdu of Sichuan province and Hunan province. The export doubled month by month through 2013. The export was five times in May of that in January, and rose to 40 000 tons in November and December.
Hesperidin
The demand for Hesperidin remained stable in 2013. When in Jan, Feb, Mar, July and Aug, 100 tons of Hesperidin was monthly exported to France(the largest buyer), but the sale halved in the other months. Hesperidin price remained at $10 to $20 per ton.
Diosmin
The export is around 30 tons per month, and not change in different months.
Synephrine
Synephrine is beneficial to weight loss, so it is gaining more attention in the world. A recent survey showed 65 percent of women and 44 percent of men claimed to try to reduce weight in England. How to develop new products based on natural ingredients will be a hot topic.
It is predicted that the market will continue to be good in 2014.
